Return to Campus

Chaminade is planning for a full return to campus for the 2021-2022 school year!

As a Chaminade family, we have embraced our mission to love, learn, and lead that has guided us throughout this pandemic and made us even stronger. With prayerful optimism and predicated by official state and county guidelines, we expect a return to full-time, in-person instruction in the fall of 2021. More details on our plans are forthcoming following the State of California’s reopening on June 15 and guidelines from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.

Communication of Plans and Protocols
Communicating our return-to-campus plans to our current Chaminade families and prospective families is a priority as we continue to evaluate the COVID-19 landscape and adjust accordingly.

What protocols will ensure student and employee safety on their return to school, and what materials and supplies are necessary to support the protocols?

  • Student Support and Wellness

How will we continue to ensure that students receive appropriate services in counseling, mental health, and support in faith development?

  • Curriculum and Instructional Delivery

How will we nurture student-centered learning and the full engagement of all students in our rigorous curriculum while, at the same time, providing opportunities for professional development to support educators’ need to retool their instructional practices?

  • Extra/Co-Curricular Activities

How will we provide students with varied and meaningful opportunities to engage in Chaminade’s extra/co-curricular activities that are so integral to our culture of family spirit and belonging?

  • Enrollment Management and Admissions

How will we continue to invite prospective families to consider the Chaminade experience for their students? How will we successfully onboard students and parents into our Chaminade family?

  • Risk Management

How will we ensure adherence to and monitoring of COVID-19 guidelines from our local and state authorities and the Department of Catholic Schools, Archdiocese of Los Angeles?

Compliance Task Forces

The Compliance Oversight Task Force coordinates all efforts to mitigate the potential spread of COVID-19 at Chaminade. It is responsible for adhering to all COVID-19 safety protocols issued by the county. It also advises and oversees the work of each campus’s own Compliance Task Force, which are responsible for establishing and enforcing campus-specific safety protocols, as well as educating students and employees.

Each campus’ Compliance Task Force is responsible for monitoring on-site adherence to safety protocols, and responding to reported COVID-19 cases among students and/or employees by activating the School Exposure Management Plan.
Health Coordinator
A Health Coordinator will work with each campus’ Compliance Task Force to establish and maintain systems to protect the health of our school community, as well as to provide care to affected individuals. The Health Coordinator will liaise between Chaminade and the DPH in the event of an on-site outbreak.
