Entrance Exam

What date is the exam?
The Chaminade College Preparatory High School Entrance Exam will be administered on Saturday January 24 and Sunrday January 25.

Who is required to take the exam?
Only those who are making application to the 9th grade are required to take the entrance exam. Please note that Chaminade administers its own entrance exam. Ninth grade applicants must take the Chaminade Entrance Exam to be considered for admission. No other exams will be accepted in lieu of the Chaminade exam.

What date can I take the exam?
Applicants choose their preferred date for the entrance exam when completing the online application. The date selected has no impact in the admissions process. Please note that the application fee (if not already paid by credit card or electronic check) must be paid to sit for the exam.

How do I receive a confirmation of the exam upon completion?
Confirmation of the entrance exam date will be both emailed and mailed home.

How do I prepare for the exam?
The best preparation for the entrance exam is to do well in your current studies, however should you wish to do some preparation in advance; any of the high school entrance exam prep books on sale in bookstores should provide ample practice for the exam. The Chaminade Center for Excellence also offers entrance exam test prep courses during the month of January in math, reading comprehension and writing.

Where do I go on the day of the exam?
On the day of the exam, applicants should report to the main office, on the upper campus. When you arrive for the exam, please check in at the tables in front of the Main office no later than 8:00am. You will be directed to your assigned classroom and testing will begin promptly at 8:10am. Please bring two #2 pencils and a pen. Calculators are not permitted during the exam. A snack will be provided during your 20 minute break time.

Where should parents wait during the exam?
Parents wishing to remain on campus during the exam will be escorted by our student ambassadors to a hospitality area, where Internet access, newspapers and refreshments will be available.

When will testing be completed?
Testing will conclude at approximately 12:00pm. Parents may pick up students at the upper campus in front of the main office, where you checked in. If you have any questions please call the Admissions Office at (818) 347‐8300 ext. 355.
