What schools do Chaminade Middle School students come from?
Our 6th grade class is comprised of students from over 60 different partner schools. Students come from both private and public schools and travel from distances near and far to attend Chaminade.How many spaces are available in the 6th, 7th and 8th grade?
6th and 9th grade are our largest entry points. In the 6th grade, we occupy a class of 205-210. In 7th grade, we enlarge the class about 30 students. In 8th grade, we typically enroll about 10 new 8th grade students.What qualifies my child to attend Chaminade?
We look at a wide array of measures in determining whether or not a student is qualified and prepared to attend Chaminade. We look at each child’s grades, standardized test scores, and results from our own entrance exam. We also take into consideration the information from the student interview, report card comments, and recommendation forms. We are looking for a good student who is also a good citizen.What entrance exam do you use?
When is the application due? Do you consider late applications?
Chaminade administers its own proprietary entrance exam. The exam has 5 sections: 1) Vocabulary, 2) Reading comprehension, 3) Math Concepts and Applications, 4) Math Computation and 5) a writing section. All applicants must take the Chaminade Entrance Exam to be considered for admission. No other exams will be accepted in lieu of the Chaminade exam. Chaminade offers entrance exam prep classes in early January, before the entrance exam dates.
The application to be considered for the 2020-2021 school year is due by January 10, 2020. Late applications are considered on a space available basis. Please call the Admissions Office for more information about this.When and how we will be notified of the decision?
Acceptance letters go out on Friday, March 6, 2020. Students will receive a physical packet shortly after. An email will be sent out for all accepted students on Saturday, March 7, 2020 as well.
