Course Request Procedure

The online course request portal is now open for students who are re-enrolled for the 2023-2024 school year to select courses. The deadline for choosing courses is Monday, March 18 at midnight. Students should read each of the important steps below and follow them during the course selection process.

1. STUDENTS LOG IN TO THE SYSTEM: Students who are officially re-enrolled for the 2023-2024 school year must log in to the system to make course requests. To do so:
  • Go to the Chaminade website and click on the icon in the upper right corner of the page.
  • Select the Course Request icon. ** ONLY STUDENT LOGINS CAN ACCESS THE COURSE REQUEST PORTAL.
  • Read the instructions carefully and watch the tutorial video that pertains to your grade level for the 2023-24 school year.
2. READ THE COURSE CATALOG: Students should carefully read course descriptions and prerequisites to select the appropriate required courses and electives that fit the student’s academic preparation, interests, and goals.

3. CONSULT WITH COUNSELORS IF NEEDED: After students have watched the online tutorial, they are encouraged to reach out to their counselors with any questions about course options.

4. COMPLETE APPLICATIONS AND APPEALS (if applicable): Applications for Christian Leadership and appeal forms for Honors and AP courses and Fine Arts (level II and higher) are available to students in the Family Portal. Students whose first-semester grade in a pre-requisite course was within 3% points of the pre-requisite grade may submit an online appeal to be considered for admission to that course. Only students rising 10th, 11th and 12th grades may appeal. A student cannot select a course for which they do not meet the published pre-requisite.
6. CHOOSE ALTERNATES FOR ELECTIVES: Students must choose alternates when required. If a student does not choose a required alternate course for an elective, one will be chosen for them. Note that class space limitations in August mean that it may not be possible for a student to change out of a course that was chosen for them. It is in a student’s best interest to choose alternates NOW when required.

7. SELECT COURSES INTENTIONALLY: Students should request courses that fit their academic preparation, interests, and goals. While students can make course changes in August, space availability in other class sections at that time is not guaranteed. Changes will not be made if there is no room in the desired course in August. Seat limitations in our classrooms will be strictly observed.

8. REVIEW COURSE REQUESTS WITH PARENT/GUARDIAN: Parents/guardians should review their student’s course requests prior to submission.

9. SUBMIT REQUESTS BY MONDAY, MARCH 18 AT MIDNIGHT: Course requests are not first-come, first-served. All students have until Monday, March 18 at Midnight to watch the online tutorial, read the Course Catalog, communicate with counselors if necessary, and complete and submit their course requests.
