Courses and camps through the Chaminade Center for Excellence are open to Chaminade students, families, and guests unless otherwise noted in the course description. Tuition for  Chaminade Center for Excellence programs must be paid in full prior to the first class meeting and registration must be completed through the online registration system.  A registration fee is also required and will be automatically applied to the course fees through the online registration system. Registration fees are non-refundable, with the exception of courses canceled by Chaminade. Courses may be canceled due to low enrollment.  In cases of low enrollment causing course cancellation, a full refund of course fees and registration will be made to the registrant using the same method as payment provided.

Highly qualified teachers, who are certified by Chaminade’s administration, teach all courses. Whenever possible, members of Chaminade’s regular faculty are employed.

Grades and Transcripts

Grades will be available via Netclassroom. For non-Chaminade students, an official transcript will be mailed to your high school on or about August 8th. This transcript serves as proof of completion of credits toward graduation. For Chaminade students, summer grades are automatically entered into Chaminade transcripts. If an additional transcript is needed, please contact the Chaminade Registrar at 818.347.8300 ext. 314.


Daily attendance is only mandatory in academic, otherwise, attendance is voluntary. Since these transcripted classes are intensive, a semester meeting only 6 days, absences must be for emergency situations only. Absence in excess of this amount will result in the student being dropped from the course with no credit and no refund of tuition. Tardiness will not be tolerated. Two unexcused class tardies will count as one full absence. Chaminade maintains a closed, secure campus at all times. No students may leave the campus during school hours for any reason without checking out through the office with a parent’s note. Students MAY NOT leave campus during class breaks. Tuition will not be prorated or refunded based upon lack of voluntary attendance in enrichment programs.

Dress Code
Students are expected to dress appropriately and casually for Center for Excellence school-year and summer programs. The following is not acceptable attire: No sleeveless/tank tops; No bare midriffs; No short skirts; No hats of any kind; No baggy pants; No swimsuits; No brief tops; No sandals (shoes must have a closed toe and heel). Additionally, NO FACIAL HAIR and NO UNNATURAL HAIR COLOR are permitted. Students violating the dress code will be sent home at the discretion of the Director, and absence will be recorded for that day.

Food Service
Light snacks and soft drinks will be available daily from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Hot lunch service will be available in West Hills during summer programs.  Lunch programs may be purchased through the online registration system. Foodservice and vending machines are in the Bob Hope Student Center and Middle School Student Center and will be available during breaks. No food is allowed in class.

Conduct and discipline
All school rules, policies and discipline structures that are contained in the current Chaminade Student Handbook are to be followed by the students and enforced by the faculty and administration. This includes the Interquest drug/alcohol/weapon deterrent program. Chaminade and non-Chaminade students are responsible for being aware and abiding by the rules and policies of Chaminade College Preparatory. The handbook is available online at www.chaminade.org for review.

Scheduling is done on a first-come-first-serve basis. Student schedules will be made available as soon as their class is full and confirmed for the Summer Semester. Classes and times are subject to change. No accommodations can be made for special requests such as specific teachers or vacation absences. Classes meet as scheduled.

Schedule Changes and Refunds
Schedule changes may be requested through the Center for Excellence office. The add/drop deadline is the start of the first day of the session. No schedule changes will be made once Summer School classes have begun. Fees are non-refundable and tuition is non-refundable once the class meets for the first time.

Course Cancellation
Chaminade reserves the right to cancel any class that does not meet minimum enrollment. A full refund will be made to students in any classes canceled by Chaminade. Course cancellations are made at the latest possible time to allow the greatest chance for opening the class. Final course decisions for Semester I will be made on or before May 27. Final course decisions for Semester II are made on or before June 24.

Text Books
Information on purchasing textbooks and related materials will be available online on the Chaminade Summer Program website in May. Some remedial classes will use the same text as is used during the school year. Enrichment courses, including those in the Great Books Summer Academy, require no books for purchase.  All materials and books for enrichment programs are included in the course fees.  For classes taken for credit, book purchase information will be available online.

Application for Registration
Registration for all summer programs must be completed online. Please click on the link on the left side of this page to enter the online registration system.  If you have not attended summer programs or courses through the Center for Excellence previously, please create a new account.  This registration system is NOT linked to the regular Chaminade College Preparatory registration system, nor will it recognize your login credentials to NetClassroom or Blackboard. 


No student may attend a class meeting without tuition paid in full.

Registration guarantees a spot in the class if the class is offered.
Registration fees are nonrefundable.
