Brittany Solis grew up in West Hills, right across the street from Chaminade. She began playing soccer and softball at the age of five and continued to play both until college. She was a multi-sport athlete at Chaminade, playing varsity volleyball, soccer and softball.

Brittany was on the girls varsity soccer team that won the 2013 Division 1 CIF Champions and was named offensive player of the year in 2012 and 2013. She also earned the Character award during the 2013 state championship game and served as a team captain for two years. A four-year member of Chaminade’s varsity softball team, Brittany played shortstop and received the Best offensive and Defensive Award in 2011, the coaches’ award in 2012 and was named to the all CIF first team in 2013. She was named Chaminade’s Outstanding Female Athlete of the years in a row, from 2011-2013. In addition to her athletic achievements, Brittany was elected Homecoming Queen, won the Regal Eagle games, and was on the Sports Medicine Team.

Brittany’s softball career continued at the University of Central Florida where she played shortstop all four years, starting every game and helping her team win the American Athletic Conference Championships twice. She was named to the all conference 2nd team. Brittany also served as president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee at UCF during her senior year. She finished her undergraduate studies in May 2017 earning a degree in Marketing and remained at UCF to pursue a dual-master’s degree in Business Administration and Sport Business Management. She was part small group of chosen to conduct research and present analytical and demographical findings that would help aid in the growth of the MiLB “Copa de la Diversion”. They presented detailed macro analysis of the LatinX marketplace to the MiLB Front office.

Community service has been important for Brittany since her days at Chaminade. She went to Costa Rica, Panama, and Puerto Rico on week long trips with Knights Without Borders, a program that encourages UCF Student-Athletes to serve outside their community. They built multi-purpose courts with the communities in Costa Rica and Panama and helped clean up the island of Puerto Rico after the devastation of Hurricane Maria. She has also traveled to New Orleans on three separate occasions to help build homes in the lower 9th ward that still have not been rebuilt since Hurricane Katrina, or have been lost to various catastrophes throughout the years.

Brittany’s proudest accomplishment is serving as the Head Coordinator for the 2nd Annual CommUNITY Rainbow Run in Orlando benefiting the onePulse Foundation. She and her team grew the event from 800 to over 2100 runners and raised just shy of $100,000 for the onePulse Foundation. onePulse foundation provides financial assistant to the victims affected by the Pulse Nightclub attack in 2016.

In December 2018, Brittany graduated from her masters’ degree progam and returned to California. She is currently an assistant coach for Chaminade’s varsity girls’ softball and soccer teams and hopes to someday work for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
