Middle School Arts

Where Creativity Finds its Voice

Visual and Performing Arts empower students to discover and express their authentic selves; building confidence and working together to realize their creative voices. Regardless of their experience level, students have the ability to grow, perform, and connect with others through music, dance, drama, and visual storytelling.

Visual Art

Visual arts empower students to explore creativity, develop problem-solving skills, and build artistic independence. Through hands-on classes in drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, digital art, and mixed media, students of all skill levels can learn and grow in a supportive studio setting and have the opportunity to showcase their work through at our annual art auction.

Cinematic Arts

Cinematic arts introduces 8th grade students to digital storytelling, journalism, and studio production. Through hands-on courses in media production and broadcast journalism, they learn to write, film, and edit content while building collaboration, communication, and creative skills. No prior experience is needed—just a passion for telling stories.

Dance

Eagle Dance is an audition-based, yearlong program for 6th–8th grade dancers training in jazz, contemporary, tap, hip hop, praise, and musical theatre. Performing at school events and showcases, students build confidence, discipline, and artistic expression that support success in every area of life.

Drama

Chaminade’s middle school drama program invites 6th–8th grade students to audition and perform in fall and spring productions, gaining stage experience and confidence in a creative environment. Students can also join the Tech Crew, collaborating on lighting, sound, props, costumes, makeup, and set design. From musicals like Legally Blonde and Grease to original works, every production offers students the chance to develop their talents both on stage and behind the scenes.

Instrumental Music

The instrumental music program gives 6th–8th grade students the opportunity to explore and perform a variety of genres through concert band, jazz band, orchestra, and percussion ensemble. Students develop technique, teamwork, and confidence while performing at festivals, concerts, and school events. With opportunities for all experience levels, the program provides a supportive and dynamic community where young musicians can grow and thrive.

Choral Music

The middle school choral program gives 6th–8th grade students the chance to develop musical talent, build confidence, and experience the joy of singing in a supportive environment. All students may join C-Notes, a show choir that explores vocal abilities and performance skills, or the liturgical choir, which leads the school community in worship. Both choirs foster artistic growth and provide meaningful opportunities to share music with others, including special performances at renowned venues like Carnegie Hall.
