The Library Department believes that students and staff should
be able to reach beyond their cultural boundaries and classroom
texts to a limitless expanse of factual, inspirational and
creative materials, which provide a Catholic perspective, as
well as a broad range of intellectual, political, religious and
historical points of view.
Access to information in both traditional and emerging formats
is vital to the concept of intellectual freedom, and to the
eventual formation of students as effective users of ideas and
information, developing the life-long learning techniques and
skills needed to make intelligent choices and responsible
decisions in a rapidly changing world.
By providing
materials and services that support the broad spectrum of
educational goals of Chaminade for personal, spiritual and
intellectual growth, this Department actively contributes to the
school's mission of developing morally aware and academically
capable contributors to the future.
