Middle School Athletics
Development of the mind and body are important parts of the educational experience at Chaminade College Preparatory, and to encourage students to develop their physical skills and appreciation for well-being, the School offers a wide breadth of athletic programs for Middle School students.
In 2012-2013, the middle school fielded 52 teams in 25 different sports; 493 students or 70 percent of the student population participated on at least one athletic team and 44 percent participated in two or more sports. There is a no-cut policy for at least one sport in each season, season so that all students have the opportunity to be a part of a Chaminade Eagles sports team. Students who join these teams often cultivate new interests in a sport they may not have considered before. Middle school athletic facilities include a gym for indoor basketball, volleyball and wrestling, six outdoor basketball courts, four outdoor volleyball courts, a full-size football field, two regulation softball diamonds, and a 400 meter dirt track.
