Middle School Athletics
Development of the mind and body are important parts of the educational experience at Chaminade College Preparatory, and to encourage students to develop their physical skills and appreciation for well-being, the School offers a wide breadth of athletic programs for Middle School students.
In 2011-2012, the Middle School fielded more than 50 teams and 25 programs. Approximately 71% of the student body participates on at least one athletic team. There is a no-cut policy for at least one sport in each season so that all students have the option to join and be a part of a Chaminade Eagles sports team. Students that join these teams often cultivate new interests in a sport they may not have considered before. Middle School athletic facilities include a gym for indoor basketball and volleyball, six outdoor basketball courts, four outdoor volleyball courts, a full-size football field, two regulation softball diamonds and a 400 meter dirt track.
Dedicated coaches make the athletic experience a time of learning and growth for students. Playing sports at Chaminade is about more than winning and losing – it is about developing skills and appreciation for physical well-being and encouraging the Chaminade family spirit.
