Fine Arts

In keeping with the Marianist philosophy to “educate the whole person”, the Chaminade Middle School Fine Arts Department is proud to offer a wide variety of award-winning co-curricular and extra-curricular programs where students can explore their potential and express their talents.  Under the guidance of experienced educators, students have the opportunity to pursue the arts in several areas including choral and instrumental music, drama, art, speech and debate, dance, and film.

The department recognizes and appreciates the innate talent with which certain students are gifted; however, we do not consider talent a prerequisite to success. Our programs place high value on effort, participation, teamwork, and above all, a commitment to excellence.

Department Highlights:

  • Annual full scale theatrical productions including Annie, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Wizard of Oz, Alice and Wonderland, Fools and others

  • Award-winning instrumental music program featuring Concert Band, Orchestra, Jazz Band, and Percussion Ensemble

  • 4-Time Los Angeles County Mock Trial Champions

  • 5-Time Debate League Champions

  • National Youth Choral Festival two-time solo feature choir (2011, 2013) at Carnegie Hall

  • Active chapter of the National Junior Art Honor Society

  • Eagle Dance Team and Dance Club performance groups
