AP Capstone Information
Chaminade is pleased to offer the AP Capstone Program beginning in the fall of 2017 for our current 9th and 10th graders. The College Board’s AP Capstone program is an innovative and engaging college-level 2-year program for high school students that complements and enhances discipline-specific AP courses. It is built on two new courses – AP Seminar and AP Research - that immerse students in the practice of critical thinking skills needed to distinguish themselves in the college and in life. AP Capstone encourages a passion for learning and transforming students into curious, collaborative, and independent thinkers with skills that are valued and sought after by colleges and universities. Students will take the AP Seminar course in grade 10 or 11, followed by AP Research the next year. Application to this program is open to any student with a cumulative weighted GPA of 3.0 or higher.

The Counseling Department's goals and objectives are to provide needed services to all students and to utilize community resources in helping students solve problems, further their education, and make realistic plans for the future. This is done through individual and small group counseling. Each student should have a minimum of one counseling session during each semester, but counselors are available to students and parents as often as necessary.
