Thank you for your interest in the Summer Session at Chaminade College Preparatory Middle School and High School.  Our Summer Session offers academic and remedial courses as well as workshops, seminars and enrichment activities in a wide variety of subjects for students entering fourth through twelfth grades.  The curriculum in the academic classes is primarily geared towards providing a solid foundation in each subject area so that students are prepared to succeed in related courses during the regular school year.

Once again Chaminade Middle School will be offering a Summer Session aimed at fulfilling a wide variety of student needs.  For those students needing to focus on academics, five-week courses in reading, language skills, mathematics, and keyboarding will be available beginning June 22nd.  On the lighter side, enrichment classes ranging from Drama to Robotics will once again be offered.  Enrichment courses will be offered in two sessions with each session lasting twelve days.  We are excited to offer some of these enrichment classes to entering 4th and 5th grade students, as well as entering 6th through 8th graders.  For newcomers to the Chaminade family, the Intro to Chaminade class is an ideal way to get acquainted with the school.

At the High School the semesters are each designed to correspond to semesters in a yearlong course.  Semester I corresponds to the fall semester, Semester II to the spring semester.  Courses are intensive, with most meeting for five hours daily for 13 days each semester.  The key to the student’s success relies heavily on their complete attendance, hard work, and active interaction with the teachers.  Students are expected to attend all class meetings, keep pace with the assigned workload, and obey all the rules of Chaminade as outlined in this booklet, and in the Student Hand book.

The Summer Session faculty is comprised primarily of our regular faculty.  They are each highly qualified in their subject area, and are dedicated to bringing the best educational experience to the students.  The foundation of our school is the family spirit that is fostered through our observance of the Marianist Catholic philosophies that form the basic tenets and mission statement of Chaminade.

I would like to thank you for choosing Chaminade to serve your educational needs.  I hope that you find the experience of our Summer Session to be as wonderful as I have found Chaminade to be during the last six years.  Welcome to the family!
