Student Appropriate Use Policy

Chaminade College Preparatory is offering its students (hereinafter referred to as user) school-wide access to the Internet. Students may access the vast resources of the Internet from any workstation on campus including the computer labs, the classroom computers, and the library. Use of the Internet is an integral component of some courses, and is optional during lunch, after-school computer clubs and in the After School Homework/Tech Center. Our goal in providing this service is to promote educational excellence through the use of Internet resources.

The Internet is a network consisting of millions of computer users in nearly every country on the globe, connecting to millions of computers located throughout the world, creating a large and diverse electronic network. Using the Internet allows students to conduct research, find homework help, and communicate with a variety of students, teachers, scientists, and people from all walks of life.

The purpose of this document is to articulate Chaminade’s Internet access expectations, obtain informed parental consent to allow student access, and to state and obtain a user’s agreement to comply with the Chaminade College Preparatory Appropriate Use Policy (AUP).
