Homework Web Calendars

Access and User Instructions

The homework web calendars are accessible via the Internet from any place in the world 24 hours a day.  First ask M.I.S. to assign you a web calendar with your username and password.  It is very important that you keep your passwords confidential at all times.

We will use the middle school's homework web calendars as an example.

Access the Chaminade Home web page at: www.chaminade.org

There are three ways to reach the middle school homework calendars from Chaminade’s Home page

1.      Click on Middle School

2.      Click on Calendars

3.      Click on Middle School Homework

OR

You can eliminate the first step and click on Calendars then Middle School Homework.

OR

From the Middle School click on Teacher Forum/Homework Calendars.

You will find a complete list of all teachers.

You then double click on your name and it will bring up the complete month.

The icon at the top of the calendar takes you back to the Teachers’ Homework Links page.

The icon takes you back to Chaminade’s Home page.

When you want to input data, you chose the day and double click on the date (the number).  It will prompt you for your user name and password.

It prompts with the Daily Event Calendar, you click once onCreateto access the Calendar Entry to add homework to the calendar.  (You will also see the days of the week and dates above.  You may also select a date here by clicking once.  It will also show the previous month and the prior month, duration, and periodic events.)

You enter the data in calendar text, **this is the place you enter basic data only.  You can use the “Color Select” option, to color code your classes.  For example your subject is always blue, or the first period is always green or to distinguish the grade level.  You can use background and foreground colors, make sure that your text is legible.  Use the pop-up box for more detailed information.  Example:  Calendar Text: English, 7th, Period 1  Pop-up: Read pages 100-104 and write a paragraph detailing all vowels.  Next to the calendar text you will find “Start Time and End Time”.  This will probably not apply to you for homework, but you may use it if necessary.  When you finish click on “Submit” and your data will be entered on the calendar page.

·        You can use the duration key at the top of the Calendar Entry for special projects, such as Science Projects that may have many days of the same homework.  The Periodic events may not apply to most since that is used for regularly recurring events, e.g. once a month or week events.  To create a duration event, click on duration, enter text information.  You may also want to use a border.  Click in the border box.  Below you will see a starting date and ending date.  Select that information.  When complete, click onSubmit”.

·        If you would like to view the calendar page, click once on the “Yellow” button at the top of the page that saysView Calendar”.  You may then go to another specific date, click on the date, i.e., 10.  You may also go to another month in this view listed at the top of the page

To delete an existing event click on the little scissors icon next to the event line.

Several events appear on your web calendar automatically such as the school days or general events.  These entries come from the Academic Master calendar so you do not have to enter them yourself.
