  1. Connect any video sources to the projector using the composite video cable (the cable with yellow heads at both ends), the s-video cable (a black cable with round ends), and the DVI cable (a cable that has a large black rectangular head that connects to the projector and a smaller blue rectangular head that connects to your laptop/desktop computer) as necessary.
  2. [optional]  If you want mouse functionality from the projector’s remote control, connect the USB end of the DVI cable into any USB port on your laptop/desktop computer.  This allows you use of the “back” and “forward” buttons on the remote while in a PowerPoint presentation.
  3. Connect the projector’s power cord.
  4. Turn on the projector and then the source(s).
  5. If you have connected the projector to a Laptop, you may need to toggle the Laptop to display to an external monitor.  This is usually done by holding down a “function” key and pressing another key to toggle the video output setting (usually a key between F1 and F12).
  6. Make any necessary adjustments to the projector’s settings (keystone, brightness, color, etc.).  Press the menu key on the projector or the remote control and navigating through the menus using the arrow keys.
  7. You can switch sources by pressing the “Source” button on the projector or the “Video” button on the remote until the name of the source is displayed in the lower right hand corner.

Shutting Down

  1. Press the power button on the remote control or on the projector itself.
  2. You may now disconnect any cables except the projector’s power cable.
  3. Leave the projector plugged in until the orange power light stops flashing and turns green.  This allows the projector to gradually cool down using its internal fans.
  4. Once the power light switches from orange to green, the projector can be unplugged and packed up.
