Advancing Chaminade
The advancement, or comprehensive "development",
program at Chaminade is driven by the Mission of Chaminade College Preparatory, the Long
Range Plan of the School (accepted and ratified by the Board of Directors in March, 1995)
and the WASC Accreditation findings of Spring, 1996. The program involves the Annual Fund,
Communications and Public Relations, Alumni Relations, Parent Relations, Special Events,
Foundation and Corporate Relations, Planned Gifts, Endowment and Capital Projects, and is
staffed by the Office of Advancement located in Chaminade Hall on the Chatsworth site.
In May of 1996, the Office of
Advancement Staff designed the
following Mission Statement to direct their efforts:
Chaminade
College Preparatory
Office of Advancement Mission Statement
The Mission of the Chaminade College Preparatory Office of
Advancement is to create and administer a comprehensive and on-going program of fund
raising and community relations to advance the mission of the school. Primary to
the operation of the office is the careful stewardship of Chaminade constituents while
consistently practicing the highest standard of ethics. Essential to this effort is the
development of strong and supportive bonds with the families, faculty, other employees,
alumni and friends of the school, creating an environment where both philanthropic and
volunteer contributions are recognized and sincerely appreciated. Positive results are
achieved through careful planning, confidential prospect research, meticulous record
keeping, and through cultivation of relationships, as well as the timely production of
communication materials providing news of the Chaminade Mission to all constituents.
The Chaminade Office of
Advancement adheres to the
accepted practices of charitable giving management as defined by the American Association
of Fund Raising Counsel, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, the
National Society of Fund Raising Executives, the National Catholic Development Conference,
the National Committee of Planned Giving and the National Council for Resource
Development.
