Middle School Volunteer Opportunities

Middle School General Support

  • DROP ZONE/LOST & FOUND – Catalog lost items and supervise backpack/large item storage area.

  • HEALTH/ATTENDANCE OFFICE – Handle minor illnesses, cuts and bruises.  Assist personnel with attendance follow up and phone calls. Two hour increments each week/month.

  • HOMEROOM PARENTS - Assist your child’s homeroom (O Block) teacher with various activities such as field trips, class parties and special events.

  • HOSPITALITY COMMITTEE - Prepare refreshments for various on-campus special events.  A great way to meet others!

  • LUNCHTIME SUPERVISION (RANGERS) - Assist in supervising students during lunchtime.

  • OFFICE SUPPORT/MAILINGS – Typing, filing and mailings as needed by the school office or other Chaminade offices.  Assist the office in doing outside errands. This work may occasionally be done at home.

  • STUDENT STORE - Stocking and selling snacks and drinks after school.

Departmental Support

  • 6th GRADE INTERNATIONAL FAIRE – Assisting teachers with set up, music and parade.

  • LIBRARY ASSISTANT - Assist with the cataloging and shelving of books, periodicals and other library resources, assist with student projects and book fair, prepare materials for research information instruction. One day per week.

  • SCIENCE LAB ASSISTANTS - Help set up and take down labs.

Support of the Arts

  • BAND PARENTS COMMITTEE – Work at student concerts and special events both on and off campus.

  • C-NOTE CHORAL ACTIVITIES – Assist with costumes, rehearsals, and performances.

  • FINE/PERFORMING ARTS PROJECTS - Help with costumes, props & equipment, construction & maintenance.  Teacher aids for quarter class performances, chaperones, drivers and telephone committee.

Support of Athletics

  • ATHLETIC BOOSTERS – Sell uniforms after school and provide support to athletic programs.

  • TEAM PARENTS - Assist in coordinating transportation for away games.  Provide refreshments.

Campus Ministry Support

  • COMMUNITY SERVICE – Assist with various collections and service activities during the year.

  • FOOD DRIVE – Assist in the collection and delivery of food to non-profit organizations.

  • Grade Level Retreat Hospitality  - Serve snack and lunch during on-campus student retreats.

Fundraising & Special Events

  • CHAMINADE FUND COMMITTEE – Assist in soliciting contributions to the Chaminade Annual Fund, which provides for costs of school programs in the current year.  Chairman is a member of the Board of Directors.

  • GOLF TOURNAMENT - Register guests, solicit auction items, and assemble auction baskets. Proceeds from this effort support student financial aid.

  • PHONATHON – Phone fellow parents and alumni to solicit gifts on behalf of the Chaminade Fund, which provides for school programs in the current year.

  • SPRING GALA (formerly Fashion Show) – Solicit prizes/auction items, prepare program, coordinate publicity, sell tickets, handle reservations, work with students in senior show & dance routines, assemble auction baskets, lighting/electrical work, computer work and more.
