School Volunteer Opportunities
HIgh School General Support
-
HOSPITALITY COMMITTEE
- Prepare
refreshments for various on-campus special events. A great
way to meet others!
-
OFFICE SUPPORT/MAILINGS
–
Typing, filing and mailings as needed by the school office
or other Chaminade offices. Assist the office in doing
outside errands. This work may occasionally be done at home.
-
STUDENT STORE
- Wrap bagels and supervise students as they sell
snacks during the morning break.
Departmental Support

CAMPUS
MINISTRY
- Assist the Campus Ministry/Retreat Program with the 9th
Grade Retreat and other vital services. During the day and
evening hours.
-
CLUB MENTOR PROGRAM
- Match parents with an on campus club as a mentor. Clubs
such as Mock Trial, Student Council, FBLA, and Film are but
a few clubs that would benefit with involvement from parents
as experts in their business. During the school day.
-
Library -
Assisting with the cataloging and shelving of
books, periodicals and other library resources, assisting
with student projects and book fair, preparing materials for
research information instruction.

Science Fair
-
Assisting in the preparation and judging for
science fairs
Support of the Arts
-
BAND PARENTS COMMITTEE
– Work at
student concerts and special events both on and off campus.
-
FINE/PERFORMING ARTS PROJECTS
-
help to build sets, help with costumes, hang an art show,
pull together the yearbook or any of the many activities
associated with operating a marching band.
Support of Athletics
-
ATHLETIC BOOSTERS ASSOCIATION
– Sell
uniforms after school and provide support to athletic
programs.

BANQUETS/PASTA NIGHTS
– Assist with the preparation and serving at these events
-
CONCESSIONS
– Sell
clothing and other items at sporting events.
-
SECURITY
– Maintains
control at the gates and on the field
-
SPORTS MEDICINE
– Provide medical assistance at games. Works under direction
of Athletic Director.
-
TEAM PARENTS
- Assist in
coordinating transportation for away games. Provide
refreshments.
-
TRAVEL (to practice/games)
– Provide
transportation to games. (Insurance verification necessary).
-
FOOTBALL CHAIN GANG
- Assist with first down chains for football games.
-
BASKETBALL SCOREKEEPER
- Assist with the operation of the scoreboard and shot clock
for home basketball games.
Fundraising & Special Events
-
CHAMINADE FUND COMMITTEE –
Assist in
soliciting contributions to the Chaminade Annual Fund, which
provides for costs of school programs in the current year.
Chairman is a member of the Board of Directors.

GOLF TOURNAMENT
- Register
guests, solicit auction items, and assemble auction baskets.
Proceeds from this effort support student financial aid.
-
HOMECOMING
– Man booths, sell food, decorate, and general support for
concessions.
-
PHONATHON
– Phone
fellow parents and alumni to solicit gifts on behalf of the
Chaminade Fund, which provides for school programs in the
current year.
-
POST-PROM PARTY
- Post prom is an after party sponsored by the Parents
Assoc. with the intent on keeping the kids safe after the
prom. Chaperones,
Check In , and Decorating are a few of the positions
necessary.

SPRING GALA (formerly Fashion Show)
–
Solicit prizes/auction items, prepare program, coordinate
publicity, sell tickets, handle reservations, work with
students in senior show & dance routines, assemble auction
baskets, lighting/electrical work, computer work and more.
