Parent Information - Summer School
by Mr. Mike Valentine

Parents please don’t forget Chaminade’s outstanding Summer School Program as an option to help cure the summertime blues.  Along with our rigorous five week academic course program, Chaminade will once again offer a variety of enrichment classes during two twelve day sessions.  The new gym will be good to good use with volleyball and basketball classes, and Father Calhoun will be back to offer an excellent workshop for beginning fencers.  In addition the Community Service Workshop, Band Workshop, Intro to Chaminade and Summer Guided Reading are all enrichment classes that are returning after successful runs last year.  Thanks to high school science teacher and Engineering Club moderator, Nancy McIntyre, Chaminade will be offering a Robotics course this summer.  Students will keep extremely busy working with computers to build remote controlled robots.  Please pick up a brochure from the front office or visit the Summer School link online at Chaminade’s website.  http://www.chaminade.org/CHATSWR/MS/SummerSchool/start.htm

Community Service Workshop Added To Summer School Offerings

Back by popular demand, the Community Service Workshop will once again be offered to incoming 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students who want to get a head start on their Community Service requirement.  Students enrolled in either of the twelve day sessions can earn up to 15 hours during Summer School.  The class will be offered from 11:00 until 12:20 during both sessions.  Help out your school and your community and get started earning those hours!
