Troy by Adele Geras

The children's novel Troy, written by Adele Geras, is an excellent tale of love and war. The novel has been nominated for many awards, including Best Children's Novel. The emotions of two sisters, Xanthe and Marpessa, are toyed with my the Goddess of Love, Aphrodite. Both are love-struck for a dashing young soldier named Alastor, whose mother has planned to marry off to a rich farmer's daughter. Marpessa is a servant to the beautiful Lady Helen, the woman the Trojan War is being fought over. Xanthe serves the Lady Andromache as a nursemaid to her son Astyanax and tends the wounded in the Blood Room.
As the war rages on, the love triangle they are all caught in becomes more and more complex. The novel is a wonderful story about the love story of the Trojan War and protrays it in excellency.
This book is perfect for those who love action and romance.
