The Wish by Gail Carson Levine

Reviewed by Allison Quan

What happened of one day you were on a train and you saw an old woman struggling to stand up and gave up your seat for her, then you were granted one wish.  Well, that is exactly what happened to Wilma, the total outcast of Claverford Middle school.  The next day after the wish she received letters, notes, and poems from boys non stop asking her to the Grad-Night Dance.  She was mainly interested in one that wrote lovely poems.  After she has gone through many interesting problems, she figures out a secret about the wish.  After her graduation, she sees the old woman in her kitchen and just as she thought her wish ended.  The Wish is a wonderful novel that any teen boy or girl can relate to, whether they are the most popular person in school to the biggest outcast of the school.
