Rescue John McGuire By Ben Mikaelsen
Written by Jeffrey Rudolph
In Rescue Josh McGuire, the main character is a boy named Josh who is thirteen years old. His dad’s name is Sam and his mother’s name is Libby. Josh had a brother, Tye, who died in a car accident. Josh’s parents were very sad and Josh’s dad drank a lot of Whiskey.
Sam and Josh always went camping and hunting. His dad taught him how to start a fire. Josh’s dad was very experienced in camping and hunting. One day Josh and his dad went hunting. Sam saw a bear and shot it. When they went over to the bear they could tell it was dead because its guts were coming out of its body. Josh saw another bear run away when his dad shot the bear. Josh thought his dad shot the mother bear. Will Josh catch the cub? Will he leave the cub alone or will he take it as a pet? Will Josh run away with the cub and get lost? If you want to see what will happen to Josh read this book immediately.
I like this book very much because it was very intense. It was also interesting to read about sport hunting. You did not know if Josh’s parents were going to find him. The book will surprise you from its beginning until its end. If you like adventure and suspense, you should get this book right away.
