Rescue Josh McGuire is an adventurous book that has many twists and turns.  Rescue Josh McGuire is a book about a boy’s love for animals of all kinds.  Josh McGuire’s dad orphans a cub by accident when hunting with Josh.  Unfortunately, Josh’s dad becomes furious when Josh tries to protect the cub.  Josh’s dad is an alcoholic who keeps taking his anger out on Josh because of Josh’s older brother’s death.  Josh runs away with Pokey (the bear cub) and his dog Mudflap. Josh will not come back unless his parents let him keep Pokey and the Fish and Game Department will change the rules for hunting bears.  Josh runs into many problems that he has to overcome which seems impossible.  Will Josh be able to keep Pokey?  Will his Josh’s dad overcome his drinking problem and try to gain control over his son’s death?  Will Josh survive?  Read this wonderful book and find out. 

This book is one of my absolute favorite books.  This book is so adventurous and exciting.  This book kept drawing me in.  I would recommend this book to people that love animals or people who just want to read a fantastic book.  This book is a great book by a great author.  When I read the first book I ever read by this author I just wanted to keep reading.  Rescue Josh McGuire  is a great book.
