Outcast of Redwall by Brian Jacques

As the story starts out, you get a first glimpse at the villainy of Swartt Sixclaw, when he rides a captive badger, later named Sunflash the Mace, to investigate a sound he heard. It turns out to be a hawk, which Sunflash helps. Right after that, the hawk, whose name is Skarlath, frees Sunflash from his bonds, and they run off away from the vermin camp, after causing much destruction. Swartt swears to get revenge on Sunflash. Who will win? Sunflash the Mace or Swart Sixclaw?
