Village by the Sea by Paula Fox

Reviewed by Ashley Hawn

Emma's father is sent to the hospital for surgery. Her mother is
going to be away most of the time and can't take care of her. So she is sent to stay with her Aunt Bea, "the terror", and kind Uncle Crispin.

Emma does not know how she can stay with "the terror" for two weeks.  Finally, she meets a friend, Bertie. The two girls start to build their own "village by the sea". Then, one day, it is destroyed. Who would destroy a village by the sea? Will her dad come out of surgery alive? It's your turn to find out.

This book is a very heartwarming experience for everyone. I highly recommend it. Paula Fox will sweep you off your feet with this touching story.
