Finally, after two years, she is able to start her geisha apprenticeship under the guidance of Memeha and receives her geisha name of Sayuri. Now, Sayuri has everything she has worked for, beautiful kimonos, money, and many men wanting her to be their mistress. However, the Chairman has caught her eye and she will not rest until she is his mistress. This will be hard though, with Hatsumomo trying to ruin her and all the other men that want her for themselves. Will Sayuri be able to escape the wrath of Hatsumomo and become the Chairman’s mistress? Will she even be able to keep herself out of danger?

Memoirs of a Geisha takes you into the memories of a young girl trying to make her way in the world and find where she needs to be in life. You see the hardships that a geisha had to face to keep herself safe and alive. This is a thrilling book that you will not want to put down.
