Patience Princess Catherine by Carolyn Meyer
Young princess Catherine, daughter of Isabella of Castille and Ferdinand of Aragon, is going to marry Prince Arthur of England. She is sent to England, away from everything she loves, and is forced to conform to the ways of a strange land and please her in-laws. Her mother prepared her for her task her entire life, but Catherine was definitely not prepared for the death of her husband months after their marriage! Catherine’s father is busy fighting a war, and cannot pay the rest of her dowry. Catherine lives in tatters, at the mercy of the King. She has fallen in love with Prince Henry VIII. She has to endear humiliation and plots to entangle her in controversy in order to come out on top and make Henry, and the crown of England hers.
This book was absolutely wonderful! I was able to learn a lot about Catherine of Aragon. This book also teaches you about being perseverant in order to accomplish your dreams. Patience, Princess Catherine earns an A+!
