Brian's Winter by Gary Paulsen

Written by Daniel Nuzzi

Brian’s Winter is a book that for the outdoor lovers. Brian is a boy who was traveling to Canada when the pilot of his plain had a heart attack and crashed. Brian survived the plain crash and had to survive the wilderness. This book is about Brian’s hardships while in the wild. Some hardships for Brian include lack of food, clothing, shelter, other animals, tools, hunting, and surviving with himself. Brian was initially hunted down and brought back to his family, but Brian’s Winter is the situation that Brian wasn’t found and he had to stay there for another couple of months in the harsh climate called winter. The book also can be sort of a guide for people who are campers.

I loved the book Brian’s Winter because of the real life situations that he faced and overcame. I would recognize this book to all who want to read about the outdoors and camping. This book should not be read by people who are grossed out by blood. There is a lot of blood violence in this book that made me cringe. Other than that the book was fantastic and kept me on my toes for the whole story. I didn’t want to put the book down. Brian’s Winter is a real page turner.
