Among the Brave by Margaret Peterson Haddix

In Among the Brave the main character is Trey. Trey is a friend of Luke, also known as Lee Grant, which is his fake identify. One day Trey was with his friend Nina. The chauffeur was driving Trey and Nina over to Mr. Talbot’s house. When Trey went up to the door Mr. Talbot answered the door and slammed it right on Trey. Mr. Talbot works for the Population Police. Trey is a third child trying to hide away from the police because third children are illegal. They have always wanted to kill Trey at the beginning of his birth. Mr. Talbot knows Trey from Hendricks Middle School.

When Trey was going back to his car the chauffeur had driven away without him. Trey got very suspicious because Nina was in the car and he did not know why she would go without him. Trey thought the chauffeur wanted him dead. Trey was very mad and unhappy. Trey went back onto the porch and sat down. He was very scared because it was nighttime. Trey heard the garage door open. Trey saw a car go out of the garage and was terrified because he saw Mr. Talbot with handcuffs in the car. He saw two guys in black uniforms in the car with Mr. Talbot. What should Trey do next? Please help us discover this mystery. If you have any clues please call us at the Talbot’s house at (221) 543-2123. Thank you for taking your time out and solving this mystery.

I liked this book very much because it was very adventurous. You did not know what was going to happen. It was very suspenseful when it was nighttime because Trey did not know what he should do. I recommend this book to anyone who likes adventure and suspense. It is the fifth and final book in a series by Margaret Peterson Haddix, which I have really enjoyed.
