Accelerated Reader Quizzes (pdf, 170 KB)

Accelerated Reader is Chaminade's number one reading program. Accelerated Readers earn points, certificates, and recognition by reading books and taking computerized tests on them. The student with the most AR points at the end of eighth grade receives the coveted Library Reading Award at graduation. This melding of reading and technology is an exciting part of our overall commitment to preparing students for the world of the 21st century. Click on the icon below to see the list of books for which the middle school currently has tests. Double xx's indicate that the school library has these books available.

The AR list is in Adobe PDF format. To view this file you must have Acrobat Reader, which is available on all campus computers. So if you are on campus right now, click on the AR link above. It may take a couple of minutes to open since this is a very large file.

If you want to access the list at home and don't have Acrobat Reader installed, it is available as shareware from the Adobe site. Click here to download Acrobat Reader (Many answers to Acrobat related questions can also be found there.)

Accelerated Reader Patch Club
The Library is proud to announce the current members of the Accelerated Reader Patch Club who are now holding one or more patches for the current school year.   These patches are earned when a student reads five Accelerated Reader books worth at least five points and scores at least 80% on each quiz.   This program was created with the purpose of expanding students' reading interests and because of that, the five books must be of five different genres.

Examples of these genres are: suspense, humor, multicultural, family, adventure, mystery, science fiction, fantasy, teen novel, animal, historical fiction, and non-fiction.  Our Library is currently housing 2,916 quizzes for many types of books.  The students who have earned the patches have shown a willingness and bravery to branch out into other parts of the reading realm and they are to be congratulated for their continued success.
